Intermittent alkali reduction equipment includes refining tank, normal pressure jet overflow coloring machine, high pressure jet overflow coloring machine and special alkali reduction machine. The refining tank is suitable for the production of small batches and multiple varieties. Its equipment investment is small, but it is labor-intensive, consumes a lot of energy and chemicals, has poor reproducibility, and has high process management requirements. The jet overflow dyeing machine can achieve a more obvious alkali reduction and relaxation effect, with good reproducibility (if equipped with a computer automatic control program), low tension when the fabric is running, and easy control of alkali concentration and temperature.

There are many models of intermittent alkali reducers, and the domestically produced YH-400 model is one of them. Its structure is shown in Figure 10-15.
The alkali reducing machine is mainly composed of a tank body, a heat exchanger, a circulation pump, a filter tank, a high-level alkali tank, a computer program control device and an electrical control system.
(1) Tank body: The tank body is a horizontal rectangular box made of stainless steel. The surface has been pickled and passivated, and has good corrosion resistance. The liquid capacity is 4000~7000L, and the cloth capacity is 500~550kg.
(2) Nozzle: Use liquid jet nozzle. Nozzle pressure 0.08~0.12MPa. In order to make the fabric pass through the nozzle smoothly, a square nozzle (with both jet and liquid flow nozzles, which can be used interchangeably) is used to prevent the door width from shrinking too much.
(3) Circulation pump: In order to reduce clogging during fabric operation, the main pump uses a high-power circulation pump with a power of 15kW, a flow rate of 180m3/h, a lift of 15m, and a rotation speed of 1450r/ min. In addition, multi-channel suction pipes and regulating valves are used to adjust the liquid volume in the nozzle and the water volume in the return valve to make the fabric run smoothly.
(4) Filter tank: A filter tank is installed on one side of the machine, which can remove impurities such as fiber fluff and silk threads that fall off the fabric to avoid affecting alkali reduction. This filter tank also serves as a feed tank. Above the tail of the machine, there is a large-capacity square liquid storage tank, which is used as an alkali storage tank when the machine is started. After sorting, the residual liquid can be withdrawn for next use.
When this machine performs alkali reduction treatment, the reduction rate is controlled by a computer program. The concentration and temperature of the treatment liquid are uniform and easy to control, and a uniform reduction rate can be obtained. Because the temperature rise and fall time is faster, the reduction and finishing time can be shortened. Because it is carried out under normal pressure, sampling is convenient and the operation is safe.
